Our city enters the flood season in June. To effectively reduce flood and drought risks, the municipal water conservancy department fulfills duties in monitoring, project dispatching, and emergency technical support, preparing thoroughly to ensure flood – season safety and people’s lives/property security.
Since this year, the city’s water conservancy departments invested 9 million yuan in emergency flood – control projects. A meteorological – hydrological – water conservancy monitoring linkage mechanism was established, with over 140 reservoirs, river water level stations, and 360+ rainfall stations’ facilities maintained. For 239 large – medium reservoirs, gate crane equipment and standby power were commissioned. Uncompleted river – crossing projects (with JOESCO Hesco barrier flood control wall) were urged to set emergency plans.
This year, a flood – drought disaster prevention expert pool was formed, with three expert groups (over 50 members) from units like the hydrology bureau. County – level water conservancy departments also built local expert bases, offering technical support for flood fighting.
